Fly-over bridge under construction

The fly-over bridge at Pannipitiya which was constructed in 2001 in the People's Alliance regime was abandoned by the UNF government during last two years.

The United People's Freedom Alliance promised the masses to complete the flyover bridge within two years. Fulfilling the election promise reconstruction of the bridge was started in October 2004 and it is in progressing rapidly.

The State Development and Construction Corporation is in charge of the project.

The construction of the fly over bridge is to be completed by October 2005.

"We are getting ready to fly over the railway track from Pannipitiya - Borella road to High level road within this year. We will be completing the construction work of this bridge on the due date", the Engineer in charge of the project told 'Daily News'.
