HAMISH Marshall smashed a hundred and his identical twin James hit a half-century to help New Zealand reach 267 for three wickets on the first day of the opening test against Sri Lanka in Napier on Monday. James made 52 in his second test appearance while Hamish was unbeaten on 133 when bad light stopped play early at McLean Park.

Rain restricts play to 40 minutes at Asgiriya


THE opening day's play of the first four-day unofficial cricket test between Sri Lanka 'A' and Pakistan 'A' was restricted to just 40 minutes before rain washed out play at the Asgiriya International Stadium here today.
