Lafeer appointed manager
THE President of the Veterans Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka
M. M. M. Lafeer has been appointed as the manager of the Sri Lanka table
tennis team for the South Asian Games to be held in Sri Lanka.

Lafeer a former vice president of the Table Tennis Association of Sri
Lanka and former national selector will also join the Sri Lanka team for
the World Masters Games to be staged in Canada in July this year.
He also had the honour of being seeded number 18 this year which is
the first time a veterans player has been seeded for the national team.
Lafeer reached the Men's Open finals of the Western Province table
tennis tournament held recently at S. Thomas' College indoor stadium in
Mount Lavinia and won all major Open Veteran events worked off this
year.
He was re-elected President of the Veterans Table Tennis Association
of Sri Lanka for the third time this year.
Lafeer represented Sri Lanka as a delegate for the Commonwealth Table
Tennis Championships in Malaysia last year and received a merit award
from the Malaysian Table Tennis Association.
He also officiated as the manager cum captain for the 12th World
Veterans Table Tennis Championships held in Yokohama, Japan last year. |
