Bell, Solanki help England 'A' to victory
PROMISING schoolboy Mahela Udawatte hit a fighting half century but
could not prevent Sri Lanka 'A' from going down to the touring England
'A' team by 84 runs in their warm up match played at Reid Avenue
yesterday.
Udawatte the captain of Ananda College hit a superb 52 from 71 balls
with one six and seven fours and also shared a second wicket stand of 62
runs with Dilruwan Perera but the home side collapsed to 174 in reply to
England's formidable 258 for 7.
Off spinner Richard Dawson did most of the damage with 4 for 27 after
Wikram Solanki and skipper Ian Bell had completed half centurues.

Pakistan 'A' by five wickets
OPENER Chanaka Wijesinghe hit a superb 99 with one six and fifteen
fours but could not prevent the Sri Lanka Cricket Academy XI going down
to the touring Pakistan 'A' team by five wickets in their warm up match
played at Braybrooke Place yesterday.
Sri Lanka Academy XI: 252 for 9 in 50 overs (Chanaka Wijesinghe 99,
Kanchana Gunawardena 57, Ishan Muthalib 27, Yasir Arafat 3 for 30, Asher
Zaidi 2 for 34).
