Dushanth Lewke for New Zealand

DUSHANTHA Lewke, Sri Lanka and CH & FC No. 8 has been invited by the Taranaki Rugby Football Union, New Zealand, to play club rugby in Taranaki during the 2005 season.

He left for New Zealand on the 17th, where he will be in Wellington under Development Manager, Taranaki Rugby Union, Rob Yule.

Incidentally, Dushanth was the Best Forward in 2003 Caltex Tournament and Most popular Player in 2004 League Tournament.

Former Royal vice captain, is rated as one of the best young players in Sri Lanka.

Exposure in New Zealand will be a great opportunity for him and for Sri Lanka rugby.

Lewke is a 2nd year student at ACBT, studying for a Business Management Degree. He is due to come back in time for the Sri Lanka national against Singapore in June.

Lewke represented Under 19 Asiad and the Under 19 World Cup in Chile in 2001.
