Baby 81 gets US Visa

"Baby 81," Abilash Jeyaraj, and his parents, Murugupillei and Yunita Jeyaraja, received their US visas yesterday morning at the US Embassy to travel to the US as guests of a popular morning television program.

US Consul General Marc Williams granted the family visas so they might travel Tuesday morning to appear on the highly-rated Good Morning America TV show on the ABC TV network.

"We're delighted to be able to grant baby Abilash and his parents the visas," said Williams. "Millions of Americans will soon know about this wonderful story of reunion in the midst of so much tragedy after the tsunami," he added.

The US Embassy granted the family visas on an expedited basis since they were expected to appear this week on the television program.
