Suntel leads with wireless fidelity Suntel, the leader of innovation who was first to establish IP VPN in Sri Lanka, makes another breakthough in modern technology with Wi-Fi. Suntel wOw has taken another giant step in technology with their recent launch of Wi-Fi Hotspots for the first time in Sri Lanka. Wi-Fi will allow users to access internet technology from central locations throughout Colombo further strengthening Suntel wOw's position in the ISP Domain. In today's fast paced world where technology is key, Suntel wOw (the internet service provider) is helping to bring Sri Lanka up to date on modern living with their Wi-Fi hotspots for internet access. Wi-Fi is short for wireless fidelity, a term used by the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance to describe wireless networking technology. In short, in Wi-Fi hot spots, people can access internet in a wireless environment. Any products tested and approved as "Wi-Fi Certified" which is a registered trademark by the Wi-Fi Alliance, are certified as interoperable with each other, even if they are from different manufacturers. A user with a "Wi-Fi Certified" product can use any brand of access point with any other brand of client hardware that is also certified. In simple terms, Wi-Fi zones (hotspots) allow internet access in a wireless atmosphere at high data speeds. Wi-Fi facilitates the broadcasting of information to one another using radio signals. For offices or even homes with several computers placed in multiple locations connecting and communicating becomes very simple. This technology also allows a lot of flexibility in moving computers around - for example, a laptop with a wireless network card is completely portable throughout the office or home. |
