Jiangsu Group enters local market

One of the leading Chinese transitional group of enterprises, Jiangsu Group has set up operations in Sri Lanka. The Assistant General Manager of the Company, Li Mincheng and one of the top officials Richard Rem is already in Sri Lanka and would be meeting several Ministers.

According to the Sri Lankan partner of the Group, Pradeep Loganathan, the company is keen on road development, hospital construction and technology transfers. Jiangsu Group is also involved in human resource training.

Loganathan said that the company has the technology to purify sea sand to suit the construction industry. "This would be one of the first projects the company would get involved in. The company would also provide technology for other companies and they are also hoping to purify sand themselves and give it out to customers," he said.

The Chinese officials will be meeting Minister of Environment A. H. M. Fowzie to further discuss this proposal.

The company has 126 member companies which are based in 30 countries and Jiangsu Group has their own work force working in these countries. "Sri Lankan professionals in the engineering and the IT sector would benefit from this as the company is always looking for new recruitment," he said.

Jiangsu Group is keen on apartment and hospital building and the road development sector as well. "For this company officials would meet the Minister of Health Nimal Siripalal De Silva and Minister of Urban Development Dinesh Gunawardane.

They would also meet Presidential Advisor Mano Tittawella.

Jiangsu Group has been listed as one of the top 225 world constructors for six years and have built star hotels, high courts complexes, hospitals, apartment, roads and highways in USA, Britain, Singapore, Sudan and Mauritius.
