Advani in line for another title Bernard Perera Reporting form Bombay Pune, Friday - Reigning, Indian National Champion Pankraj Advani got closer to another title yesterday when he defeated Kyaw Oo of Myanmar in the first semi-final of the 4th Asian Billiard championship. The Indian champion proved his class with a 11 sets to one victory over Kyaw. Advani got off to a flying start making a break of 52 points. Kyaw in return made a solid break of 71 points before losing concentration and gave the opportunity to Advani to pay the visit to the table. Advani won the set with an unbroken break of 48. The second set was completely dominated by Advani. On his first visit he finished the set 100-0 to take a firm lead 2-0. Advani who had a solid second set continued his form in the third set too. Advani's unfinished break of 73 points helping him to take the set and a comfortable 4-0 lead. Indian entered the fourth set hoping for a clean sweep, but things changed in quick time as Kyaw did not allow Advani to extend his lead. Kyaw fought back brilliantly to have his best break of the match a 98 point to grab the set and reduce the lead to 3-1. Advani's first visit of the fifth set finished everything for him when moved comfortably to reach the winning target of 100 points to enter the final which is scheduled for today at 4.30 p.m. |
