Bourse dips The market witnessed declines in the two indices today with the All Share Price Index (ASPI) which opened at 1715.41 points moving down by 3.13 points to close at 1718.54 points and the Milanka Price Index (MPI) which opened at 2357.26 points closing down 8.86 points at 2366.12 points. Total turnover for the day was Rs.470.9Mn. with a share volume of 297Mn. The sectors which recorded considerable growth during the day were Health Care (+6.7%) and Construction & Engineering (+1.29%0. Negative growth was recorded in Information Technology (-4.65%) and Telecommunication sector (-1.47%) Foreign investors were net sellers in the market with foreign sales of Rs.108.9Mn as against purchases of Rs 44.2Mn. A total of 4580 trades were concluded during the day. Top gainers for the day were Ceylinco Housing (17.2%), Soy Foods (11.5%) and Confifi Hotel Holding (11.5%) |
