HNB automates mailing operation Hatton National Bank (HNB) has fully automated mailing of customer statements with the installation of two units of Pitney Bowes Mail Inserter System. The DI800 by Pitney Bowes, USA, the international market leaders in automated mailing solutions, is an innovative machine, which sets new standards for automated mailing. The Pitney Bowes, DI800 is a modular system that can be expanded and configured to the needs of the customer. The DI800 controls the contents of each mail piece by feeding the output from the printers, collating all the pages of a customer, folding the statements, and inserting documents into envelopes, as well as sealing the envelopes at speeds up to 4,200 letters per hour. The integrity of the customer statement is achieved by the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) printed on each page of the customer statement. The OMR ensures that all pages of a customer statement is inserted into the correct envelope. The OMR feature also enables the HNB send special offers, announcements, etc., to customers meeting predefined criteria. Special customer requirements such as bank statements which are to be collected by customers can be diverted for special handling. With the two machines of Pitney Bowes DI800, HNB is able to mail out the monthly bank statements to customers, without delays and the hassle of manually separating customer statements, folding by hand, inserting into an envelope and pasting the envelope flap. As the DI800 fully automates this process, the contents of the customer statements are not visible to anyone, thus ensuring the confidentiality of the customers bank statements. |
