Committee on investment project facilitation meets The High Powered Committee on investment/project facilitation appointed by President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga under the Chairmanship of the Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment Promotion Anura Bandaranaike, held its first working meeting at the ministry auditorium yesterday. Following the appointment of the committee, investors and senior public officials have been invited to discuss and resolve issues pertaining to releasing of lands, infrastructure, power and energy projects and planning clearances in order to facilitate and fast track ongoing projects. The members of the committee, Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Sarath Amunugama, Minister of Ports and Aviation, Mangala Samaraweera, Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Planning, P. B. Jayasundera, Secretary, Ministry of Industry and Investment Promotion, Dr. Upananda Vidanapathirana, Senior Advisor to the President, Mano Tittawella, Chairman/Director General, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Saliya Wickramasuriya and Chairman/PERC Nihal Sri Amarasekere participated at the meeting. |
