Top Gemologist here

Ceylinco Gemcorp International Ltd. has invited Dr. Daniel Nyfeler, a Gemologist from Guebelin Gem Lanoratory, Luzerne, Switzerland to visit Sri Lanka next month to explore the possibilities of setting up an international level laboratory here for the testing and certification of gemstones.

Dr. Nyfeler is also the Managing Director of the 'Guebelin Gem Lab' which dates back to almost a century and has served the gem and jewellery industry at a time when it was threatened with synthetic gemstones and cultured pearls. Dr. Nyfeler is also scheduled to deliver a lecture on a current topic relevant to the industry on March 17 in Colombo.

British Business Mission arrives

The British Consultancy and Construction Bureau (BCCB) will visit Sri Lanka with a team of member companies from 28 February to 4 March 2005.

The Mission is supported by UK Trade and Investment, the UK Government agency for trade promotion and the British High Commission.

The Mission is intended to demonstrate the British private sector interest and the potential contribution it can make to the longer-term rebuilding and reconstruction of the areas affected by the Tsunami.
