Lanka for inaugural Indoor Asian Games Sri Lanka would be able to compete in athletics and swimming at the inaugural Indoor Asian Games to be held in Thailand later this year. President of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka, Hemasiri Fernando said yesterday that the decision to have a separate Indoor Asian Games, probably the first of its kind in the world sports history, was taken at the OCA executive council meeting in Kuwait over the weekend. Fernando, who represented Sri Lanka at the OCA ex-co and returned home yesterday, said there will be ten disciplines at the first ever Indoor Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Bangkok in December, and that Sri Lanka could compete in indoor athletics and indoor swimming.
