Telecom, tsunami volunteer service

Sri Lanka Telecom employees voluntarily participated to clear the debris of tsunami affected Payagala area.

This volunteer service was carried out on January 23 with the participation of more than 200 Telecom employees. We could successfully complete our task by clearing about 600 metres along the road near Payagala railway gate towards, Galle direction, said Tilak de Silva, the chief organiser.

One of the speciality of this task was it was a Sunday, therefore it was not affected to the normal official work of SLT. We are very happy about our physical contribution and hope to further assist in different ways in future.
