Dep. Secy. Malwatte Chapter passes away

Ven. Hakmana Bodhisiha Siddhartha Wimalasara Nayaka Thera, the Deputy Secretary of the Malwatte Maha Vihara Chapter, Kandy passed away Sunday night at the General Hospital (Teaching), Peradeniya at the age of 73 years.

Wimalasara Thera was a senior member of the Malwatte Karaka Maha Sangha Sabha and he has been ailing for some time. He was ordained in 1944 and received higher ordination in 1954.

He was the student of Rajakiya Pandith Bodhisiha Sri Sobhitha Gonadeniye Wimalabuddhi, Deputy Chief Sanghanayake of Yatinuwara,. The late Wimala Buddhi Nayaka Thera was the chief incumbent of Meiyagoda Ancient Viharaya at Walgowwagoda in Yatinuwara.

He has served as a teacher in a number of government schools. The cremation will take place on Wednesday 19 afternoon at the Adahana Maluwa at the vihara precincts at Rattepiliya.
