Renovation of affected temples

It is estimated that nearly 49 temples have been either destroyed or damaged by the tsunami tidal waves in the coastal areas of Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Buddha Sasana in co-ordination with the Department of Buddha Sasana has instituted action to renovate or reconstruct these temples which have been approved by the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Sangha Sabha and Sri Lanka Amarapura Nikayabhiwurdy Dayaka Sabha.

In these circumstances the Maha Sangha Sabha and the Dhayaka Sabha request that all reports with regard to damaged or destroyed temples be forwarded to the Secretary General Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa Anu Nayaka Thera.

All reports should be affirmed by the Incumbent Nayaka Theras of the respective temples and forward addressing them to Ven. Kotugoda Dhammawasa Anu Nayaka Thera, Secretary General, Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Sangha Sabha, Sri Dharmapalaramaya, Mt. Lavinia.
