MTI lays groundwork for Serendib Flour Mills

Serendib Flour Mills (Pvt) Ltd (SFML), is a joint venture between the National Flour Mills and Emirates Trading Agency both subsidiaries of Abdullah Al Ghurair Group of Dubai. SFML has commenced construction work to set up a flour mill in Sri Lanka. The total project cost is estimated at over Rs. 5 billion.

SFML on the verge of becoming Sri Lanka's second flour mill successfully secured a loan from a consortium of Banks in Sri Lanka. MTI Consulting was instrumental in developing a Marketing Feasibility Plan which formed an essential part of the proposal submitted to the Consortium of Banks for funding.

Commenting on MTI Consulting in securing this loan SFML's Chief Executive Officer - Sathak Abdul Kadar and Chief Financial Officer - Firdowsy Ismail said the MTI Marketing feasibility plan involved a thorough analysis of secondary data together with primary research, providing valuable insight in the company's potency, which significantly helped in convincing key financial institutions".

Director and Senior Consultant of MTI Consulting Lasantha Abeywickrama said "that MTI Consulting is proud to be a consultant to this massive project."

National Flour Mills has the expertise in flour milling since they embarked into this industry in the mid 70s in Dubai. They now have operations in Dubai, Jabel-ali, Lebanon, Algeria and Sudan. Emirates Trading Agency have diverse commercial interest which includes shipping, construction, commodity training.

Emirates Trading Agency subsidiaries in Sri Lanka includes ETA Lanka (Pvt) Ltd which is currently involved in blending and marketing fertiliser, ETA Ascon in property development and ETA Melco which is a joint venture with Mitsubishi Electrical for the supply and installation of Mitsubishi lifts and escalators in Sri Lanka.
