Coaching camps at Kegalle and Kurunegala Sri Lanka Badminton Association (SLBA) is to conduct two district coaching camps at Kegalle and Kurunegala from January 21 to 24. According to the Chairman of the Coaching Development Committee of SLBA Louise Karunaratne, the first coaching camp at Kegalle will be held on January 21-22 while the second one will be held at Kurunegala on January 23-24. The shuttlers from age groups under 13, 15, 17, 19 are eligible to participate at this coaching camps which will be conducted by the two coaches K. D. Nallathamby and Annesly Karunaratne. Louise Karunaratne further said, "this is a good opportunity for the outstations shuttlers to build up their skills from the qualified coaches from SLBA. This will be the first two coaching camps this year and in February we intend to hold coaching camps for the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts shuttlers. He also added, "we plan to conduct this level coaching camps at all districts. We want to discuss with district association officials to get information about their facilities and also want to give their requirements from the SLBA. "The coaching camps will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and lunch and other facilities will be provided by the SLBA through the district associations," said Karunaratne who is the man behind the development of outstation shuttlers. We want to involve more shuttlers for domestic tournaments which is the best way to promote the game. |
