Renowned Indian public figure, Jyotindra Nath Dixit, who died yesterday
was India's National Security Advisor at the time of his demise. Besides
being a former Foreign Secretary and holding other key positions in the
Indian Foreign Service, Dixit was India's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka
during the J. R. Jayewardene and R. Premadasa administrations, which were
