Anuradhapura District special correspondent Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse will enshrine sacred Buddha relics in the Abhayagiri and Jethavanaramaya stupas in Anuradhapura today at a ceremony to be held under the patronage of Atamasthanadhipati Ven. Pallegama Siriniwasa Nayake Thera. Leading members of the Maha Sangha together with North Central Province Governor Dr. Jagath Balasuriya, North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake and several other Deputy Ministers and Parliamentarians will attend these ceremonies. Meanwhile, the Sathi-Pirith pinkama held at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi will conclude with a Sanghika dana to the Maha Sangha on January 8. |
