A sea route to South

Minister of Advanced Technology and National Enterprise Development Rohitha Bogollagama said that the Government is already working to establish a sea route for transport until the train services commence.

He said this when he met the Entrepreneurs of the Galle District at meeting held at the Galle Chamber of Commerce and Industry auditorium on Friday attended by over 400 businessman and entrepreneurs who were effected by Tsunami.

He instructed to set up committees comprising Bank officials and members of Trade Chambers to assess the damage so that remedial action could be taken fast.

At Ambalangoda Bakery owners complained to the Minister about the shortage of Wheat Flour. Arrangements are made through Prima Ceylon Ltd. to issue Wheat Flour directly from Collombo to the genuine Bakery owners and others in the confectionery industry.

The Minster said, that a clear policy will be announced on setting up of a rehabilitation fund he said. He instructed chamber officials to provide identity cards to all the businesspersons in the area so that they can visit business premises without any obstacles.
