Indika Prasad ranked No. 2

Indika Prasad of Associated Newspappers of Ceylon Limited was ranked No. 2 player in the year in the national grading by the Table Tennis Association of Sri Lanka.

He has been in the game for over fourteen years and works in the Time Keeping Section of the ANCL. He is an old boy of Isipathana College.

Prasad represented Sri Lanka at many Table Tennis Tournaments including South Asian Federation Games held in 1995 and 1999 where he won bronze medals for the events.

Some of the highlights of his sporting career are his participation at the Merit Team Table Tennis Tournaments held in Doha and Qatar and winning bronze medals in men's singles and doubles at the South Asian TT Tournament in Islamabad in Pakistan.

Prasad had also won titles at several local events; Mixed Doubles Championship at Munidasa Kumaratunga Memorial Open TT Championship, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles at Western province Opent TT, Men's championship and man of the tournament at 30th National Championship.

Indika Prasad has also been chosen for South Asian Federation Games TT Pool 2005. He is grateful to the ANCL, his coach Chandana Perera and fellow players Nuwan Sampath and Dipika Rodrigo for his success in the game.
