LTTE 'office' in State farm detected by Asanga Warnakulasuriya Police officers yesterday uncovered an LTTE recruiting centre and political office operating in a Government controlled area in, Uppuveli. According to Uppuweli Police, the LTTE had maintained their office in a livestock farm belonging to the Agricultural Department. A Police official told the Daily News yesterday that at the time of the detection six LTTE cadres were inside their office. Police suspect that LTTE cadres in various age groups including child soldiers were recruited at this office. Police had informed the matter to the SLMM and are investigating to ascertain whether the LTTE political office had operated with the knowledge of the Government officers. |
