IBM showcases Think Vantage echnologies in Lanka

IBM hosted a ThinkWorld day for its clients and business partners to showcase the latest in personal computing innovation and to better understand its revolutionary ThinkVantage Technology (TVT).

With the introduction of TVT, IBM clearly sets the trend for PCs while competitors are still focused on providing products still addressing customers' old problems.

IBM's ThinkVantage Technology (TVT) is an innovative range of PC software offerings that make PC products and their accompanying technologies simpler, more resilient and more capable of solving problems without or with little human intervention.

TVT addresses larger issues faced by IT users of today in making purchaser decisions. These include issues such as reduced budgets, complexity of business needs security and operational resiliency, universal access, compatibility to business needs and shared infrastructure usage.

"Innovation is much more than invention. True innovation begins at the intersection of invention and insight and it encompasses the application of invention and the fusion of new developments, and new approaches to solve real problems.

IBM ThinkVantage Technologies one such offering from IBM that solves real life problems of PC users" said Country Manager, IBM SriLanka, Kavan Ratnayake.

Competitors to IBM's product are still set in the paradigm of offering the age-old notion of 'buying a box' to solve their problems. Maintenance and administration of this is executed only through additional payment for services.

Though most users purchase products, very little thought is given to the administrative costs such as deployment, upgrades, downtime, customer service, data maintenance, etc. IBM's TVT built into all its products prevent the need for additional spending on maintenance as the users can accomplish these tasks without having to trouble the It helpdesk all the time.

Even if the problems are complex the IT personal may be able to advise over the phone to users with TVT.
