Lankan software companies to participate in CeBIT 2005 The Export Development Board (EDB) has planned to reserve space for the Sri Lankan Software companies at the world's largest ICT exposition in Germany - CeBIT in March 2005. CeBIT is the world's largest ICT exposition which provides numerous opportunities for the well established ICT companies, BPO sector as well as SMEs and start-up ICT companies around the globe. Sri Lanka's participation at the CeBIT 2004 generated business leads from Italy, China, Taiwan, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Israel, France, Finland, Siberia, Hungary, Turkey, Iran, Denmark and Germany. Sri Lankan participants finalised deals in the areas of document conversion, bio-metric solutions, C++ programming, outbound call centres and many other fields as result of their participation at the CeBIT 2004. There are many benefits for ICT companies in addition to the direct export contracts including finding partners for investment and joint ventures by participation at CeBIT. These benefits also include getting on exposure to global ICT market place, familiarisation with new technology, understanding ICT market trends and meeting the competitors. |
