Lankan wins World Top Prize for Business Communication

A Sri Lankan student who sat for the recent Association of Business Executives (ABE) Examination, conducted by its London-based ABE institute, has won the World Top Prize for Business Communication (English) in the ABE for the first time in the country's history.

The World Top Prize-winner Anura Heennilame Gankanda, a business executive, at the Oxford College of Business, Colombo 3, was tutored by Sisira Wijesinghe, Sri Lanka Army Media consultant who is also a visiting lecturer on Business Communication.

This is the first time Sri Lanka after beating over 22,000 international students recorded the World Top Prize for Business Communication-2004 at the ABE Examination, held in June this year and brought honour to Sri Lanka.

A felicitation ceremony to honour the prize-winner and lecturer was held last week at the Holiday Inn.

Ms. Christine Gill, Executive Director, ABE (UK), Minister of Urban Development and Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Dinesh Gunawardene, Upul Daranagama, Managing Director, Oxford College of Business and several others were present.
