Hacked intelligence member succumbs to his injuries J.S. Nalin in Colombo (Lanka Academic). The army's intelligence member who was hacked with sword in Nunavil in Jaffna along with another by the LTTE yesterday succumbed to his injuries at the National Hospital yesterday. Military Spokesman Brigadier Daya Ratnayake said that the victim, Lance Corporal K. Rupasinghe of the 3rd Battalion, Sri Lanka Light Infantry and attached to the Army Intelligence was hacked with swords while he was returning to his camp after duties with another in Nunavil in Jaffna. Soon after the incident they were admitted to the Palaly hospital and later airlifted to Colombo on the same evening, as their condition grew worse, he said. |
