Judicial Protection Division set-up by Sarath Malalasekera On the instructions of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga the
Special Task Force (STF) deployed a special STF team to provide security
to protect Judicial Officers from yesterday. Police Department has
established another Police Division, "Judicial Protection
Division". This Division will be headed by Senior SP Ceasar Ranaweera. Special Task Force Commandant DIG Nimal Lewke has undertaken to train the Police personnel for the Judicial Protection Division. Until the Police personnel complete their special training, the STF will provide security for the Judicial Officers, DIG Lewke said.
