Ven. Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanayake Thera yesterday praised the decision taken by Minister of Advance Technology and National Enterprise Development Rohitha Bogollagama and said that it was a timely decision taken in the national interest of the country which is an example to all politicians. Ven. Sidhartha Mahanayake Thera who met Minister Bogollagama when he called on the Mahanayake Thera at the Kandy Malwatu Vihara yesterday stressed that as long as politicians protect their portfolios and think of their own betterment, the people will have to suffer. "This trend has continued for a long time and the opportune time has come for politicians to sacrifice their post and think of the country first," Ven. Siddhartha Mahanayake thera said. The Mahanayake Thera also praised the decision taken personally by the Minister to call upon the members of the Opposition to join the National Advisory Council for Peace and Reconciliation. In the discussion, Ven. Sidhartha Mahanayake thera highlighted the importance of changing the existing electoral system. Parliamentarian Wijedasa Rajapaksha was also present. |
