Bourse up after Budget

The market moved up significantly after the budget with the All Share Price Index (ASPI) moving up by 22.4 points while the Milanka Price Index (MPI) moved up by 38.5 points. The ASPI closed the day at 1,485.2 points while the MPI closed at 2,091.8 points.

A total turnover of Rs 210 million was recorded during the day. The Diversified sector accounted for nearly 39 per cent of the total turnover.

Footwear & Textiles, Hotels & Travels and Diversified Holdings sectors recorded significant gains while Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Health Care sectors recorded negative gains.

Foreign investors were net sellers in the market with net sales of Rs 26 million.
