Abacus wins best GDS award Asia-Pacific's leading travel facilitator, Abacus International has once again been named the Best Global Distribution System at the prestigious TTG Asia Travel awards. It was the sixth consecutive time Abacus has won the award, which is decided by votes from travel agents, suppliers and industry leaders throughout Asia-Pacific. The voting criterion for the best GDS was based on ease of operation, user-friendliness, efficiency and reliability of its system and comprehensiveness of its network. The award was presented at the annual IT&CMA (Incentive Travel and Conventions Meeting Asia) conference hosted by TTG Asia in Bangkok, Thailand on 12th October 2004. Don Birch, President and CEO of Abacus International accepted the award. "I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude on behalf of everyone at Abacus to our partners and customers who have voted for us as the best GDS again," said Birch after accepting the award. The annual TTG Travel Awards has been running since 1989 and is an opportunity for the entire travel industry in the Asia-Pacific to gather to honour and recognise its peers for their outstanding achievements and contributions.
