Karunaratne yesterday directed the Prison authorities to produce, Sathyaseelan Selvakumar (29) of Jaffna, the woman accomplice of the LTTE woman bomber who committed suicide at the Kollupitiya Police station premises, before the special court in the Prison premises and submit a report to court on the next date, December 17, 2004. The Judge also allowed an application made by the CID earlier to question several persons who are alleged to have used cellular phones on the day of the incident. The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) earlier took over the investigations into the LTTE suicide bomber exploding herself at the Kollupitiya Police station, on July 7, where four police personnel and the LTTE woman suicide bomber were killed. Investigations also revealed that the LTTE woman suicide bomber had been assigned to assassinate Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP) Leader Douglas Devananda. The woman accomplice was arrested by a team of officers attached to the Special Task Force (STF) immediately after the incident. The suspect woman was remanded till December 1. |
