The Dinamina Newspaper of the Lake House group has organised an all island essay competition to mark the 10th Anniversary in office of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

The competition to be held from the December 7 to 12 will be part of the Nilwala Harasara festival in Matara.

The competition will be held under school and open categories. The topics can be chosen from the following: Steps taken to strengthen human rights, measures at poverty alleviation, media freedom, fostering ethnic harmony, educational reforms and development in the education sphere and social welfare development witnessed by the country during the past 10 years.

Valuable prices await the winners of the essay competition.
