Fund raising to complete Mahaweli Mahaseya The Mahaweli Cultural Foundation Trust has organised a Fund raising campaign to complete the construction of the Mahaweli Mahaseya and an invitation has gone to the devotees, well wishers and philanthropists to meet at the Temple Trees on Tuesday, November 16 at 4.30 pm to launch the fund raising project. Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse will chair the meeting at the invitation of the Mahaweli Cultural Foundation Trust, on the directive of Mahaweli, River Basin Development and Rajarata Development Minister Maithripala Sirisena. Buddha Sasana, Public Security, Law and Order Minister and Defence Deputy Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake, and Cultural National Heritage Minister Vijitha Herath will grace the occasion. The Trust in a media release said that the construction work of the Mahaweli Mahaseya delayed due to various reasons has now been continued without interruption. the construction of the Pinnacle and the Crest Gem is already completed and the 'Square Chamber', is being completed. |
