Breakthrough imminent in Sujeewa Perera murder case

A special Police team probing the murder of Sujeewa Perera, the Finance Manager of Bodyline Garments yesterday apprehended a suspect with a vehicle in the Giriulla Police Division. The suspect was later handed over to Nugegoda Police for further investigations, Police said.

Police said yesterday that a woman believed to be the fiancee of the suspect who was inside the car was also arrested and remanded by Alawwa Police for further questioning. The Police team deployed on directions of the DIG Crimes and Crime Intelligence Jayantha Wickramaratne believes that the arrest of the suspect could lead to a breakthrough into the investigations.

On directions of the DIG Crimes, Western Province North DIG K.P.P. Pathirana and SP Nugegoda Wickrama Perera, Nugegoda Police are investigating further.
