Kandy sports correspondent

The Division One Inter-Club Soccer Tournament of the Kandy Association Football League (KAFL) got off to a roaring start when the Kandy Municipal Sports Club drubbed new comers Katukelle Untied Sports Club 8-0 at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy.

At half-time Municipal Sports led 2-0.

After a cautious first-half, the Municipal Soccerites out loose in the second-half to add a further six goals to their tally through some fine positional play which paid rich dividends.

Municipal Sports Club scored through R.G. Wijewardena (2), M. Marasinghe (2), H.M. Haliok (1), Manjula Nishantha Gunasekera (1), Keerthi Kumara (1) and L.H. Cooray (1).
