| No Presidential polls next year- Elections Commissioner's office There will be no Presidential Elections next year putting to rest all the debates and speculation surrounding this topic. This was confirmed by Elections Commissioner's office which said they had no plans for a Presidential election next year. A Government source also confirmed that no financial provisions have been made for a Presidential election in the current budget. Deputy Elections Commissioner P.M.Siriwardena said there was no preparation whatsoever by his Department to hold Presidential elections next year. |
