Chilean envoy to meet Lankan businessmen Ambassador for Chile Dr. Jorge Heine will visit the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) on November 2 to meet businessmen and hold discussions on trade opportunities between the two countries, a CCC press release stated. This meeting is organised in keeping with the Chamber's policy of promoting closer contacts between CCC members and overseas trade representatives. An opportunity is available for exporters and importers to brief Dr. Heine, about any problems they may be facing in trading with Chile, establish contact with him by introducing themselves and their company products, exchange views and to enable them to obtain background information from local exporters and importers which will be of use to him in his new assignment. According to statistics, Sri Lanka exports tea, rubber products, spices and garments to Chile and the main imports are canned fish and fish meal. It is reported that Chile is looking for importers of fresh fruits. This forum will offer an insight into the Chilean market and will serve as a platform to discuss various trade related issues. |
