Two LTTE cadres killed

Two Vanni LTTE cadres were killed in a clairmore mine explosion, suspected to have been carried out by pro-Karuna members, in the uncleared parts of the Batticaloa district on Thursday night.

The explosion had occurred in Pankudawali, around 8.30 in the night, Eravur police said. In a shooting incident later two Vanni LTTE members were injured and were admitted to Batticaloa hospital.

The shooting took place at Karuwankerni, Valachchenai an area under the Government control in the Eastern province.
