The Sri Lanka Central Bank said the country's Gross Domestic Products has recorded a growth of 5.2 per cent during the second quarter of this year. Senior Deputy Governor of the Central Bank W. A. Wijewardene told a news conference at the Central Bank Auditorium in Colombo, yesterday there has been a considerable growth in agriculture, industrial and the services sectors and attribute this to the continuation of the ceasefire agreement. He said it has contributed immensely to maintain the considerable growth. The Central Bank expressed belief the country's economic growth will fluctuate between 5 to 5.5 per cent this year under the present circumstances. The Bank's Director of the Statistics Department Dr. Anila Dias Bandaranayake said tourists stay longer here and there was a positive growth in investments. |
