LTTE delegation leaves for Europe An LTTE delegation headed by LTTE Political Wing leader S. P. Thamilselvan was scheduled to leave for Europe last night for a three week long visit from the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake. Quoting LTTE sources in the Wanni the pro-LTTE Tamilnet Website reported that the delegation is expected to hold discussions with legal and constitutional experts who formulated the Interim Self Government Authority proposals (ISGA). The team will also meet Government officials of several European countries during the tour. The delegation includes P. Nadesan, Head of Judiciary, Para, Secretary General of LTTE Peace Secretariat, S. Pulithevan and Amparai-Batticaloa Political Head Kausalyan. The LTTE delegation arrived in Colombo last afternoon from Kilinochchi. The LTTE delegation will stay in Geneva for a week from October 1 and expected to meet officials of the Swiss Foreign Ministry and UNHCR. They are later expected to meet United Nations Human Rights Commission and ICRC officials. The delegation is also expected to leave for Oslo and there they will meet Norwegian Deputy Foreign Minister Vidar Helgessen and special peace envoy Eric Solheim on October 07. In addition the LTTE delegation will also visit Ireland, Denmark and Switzerland, sources said. |
