The 53rd anniversary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the annual convention will be held today in Galle under the patronage of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

Ten senior party members from each electorate will be honoured for their services to the party at the celebrations today.

The SLFP celebrated its 53rd anniversary after laying the foundation stone for its new party headquarters building on September 2.
