Investor interest on property sector boosts CSE

Colombo Bourse continued to experience its strong trend yesterday too and the market was basically driven by the investor interest on property sector.

According to stock brokers, buying pressure has got in to the market with continuous profit taking.

Stock brokers also said that major transactions on counters such as NDB and Ceylinco Securities boosted the day's turnover recording at Rs 267,777,437. The All Share Price Index jumped to 1,398.43 points from 1,389.95 on Monday.

The Milanka Price Index increased to 2,097.07 points from 2,080.31 points. Heavily traded stocks were Colombo Land, Ceylinco Seylan, Ceylinco Sec, C.W. Mackie and Nations Trust.

Foreign purchases were Rs. 2,887 million and foreign purchases Rs. 74 million. Ceylinco Ins, Elephant Lite, Browns, Col Pharmacy and Maskeliya were top five gainers.
