The Education Department is urgently taking steps to fill vacancies in the Class I of the Education Administrative Service, the Department said yesterday. There are nearly 200 vacancies in this service, which now has only a limited number of personnel. This has posed severe constraints on the education service. Education Secretary Dr. Tara de Mel appointed a special committee to initiate measures to fill these vacancies immediately. The committee has decided to formulate a priority list based on seniority for this purpose. Interviews will be called afterwards and the Ministry will fill all vacancies in the Class I. |
