HNB skills and personality enhancement program for school-leavers HNB launched a novel skills and personality enhancement program for school-leavers that should see them preparing for gainful employment in the robust private sector. Under this six-month-program youth between the ages of 18 and 25 will be selected through interviews to join the bank's coveted Credit Card Division where they will be trained and given a chance to accumulate firsthand work experience alongside the division's seasoned marketing team. "HNB has for quite sometime considered the feasibility of allowing school-leavers to experience in the banking and marketing fields. Such an opportunity we believe would fill the current vacuum and equip them to face the future with confidence," says R. I. Wijetilleke, Chairman and Managing Director. "The bank in an advertisement last week invited youth between 18-25 for six months program of great fun, cool experience and chance to earn." "The logistics of such a career and personality development program are quite high and puts a strain on the bank's demanding work environment. But we have been able to put together a program that allows youngsters to merge into professional work environment sharpening their skills and attitudes," says Wijetilleke. |
