HSBC introduces zero interest Credit scheme

HSBC credit cardholders now can enjoy the banks newest scheme zero interest monthly installment to buy goods from selected leading city outlets.

When they purchase goods and services such as jewellery, household goods and travel packages from selected outlets, they can pay in easy monthly instalments at zero per cent interest.

"With this scheme we are revolutionising the concept of the credit card," Manager, Card Centre, Sarit Wijeyekoon said.

Wijeyekoon explained that the scheme was open to all HSBC credit card customers, allowing them to pay the total cost of an item in equal monthly instalments at zero percent interest.

"We have all heard of easy payment schemes, but usually you have to pay the instalment as well as interest on each instalment. But our customers can use the HSBC credit card and choose to pay the showroom price in monthly instalments at zero per cent interest!" he said.

"Customers can choose between paying for goods and services in either three, six or twelve equal monthly instalments."

He added that the credit cardholder would keep earning Rewards points for these payments. Abans, Singer Mega, Vogue and Jetwing Holidays are some of the merchant outlets attached to the HSBC interest free monthly instalment scheme.

HSBC's Card Centre Manager said that more merchants would join this program soon.
