Pubudu wins a double

Pubudu Wanigasekera of Lake House SC won a double at the Nationalised Services Badminton Association novices championships worked off at S. Thomas' College indoor stadium , Mount Lavinia recently.

Wanigasekera took the women's singles title by defeating M. N. U. Bandara of National Water Supply and Drainage Board 11-2, 11-4 and then combined with Champa de Silva also from Lake House to beat the pair of Anusha Deepani and Renuka Pushpamale of Sri Lanka Ports Authority in the women's doubles final 15-1, 15-1.

In the mixed doubles Pubudu Wanigasekera and Asanka Peiris emerged runners-up losing to the combination of D. Y. Somapala and Renuka Pushpamale in the final 7-15, 15-8, 15-10.
