Mangala assures no injustice to graduates

Ashraff Congress Leader S. Subairdeen had a cordial discussion with Ports, Shipping, Aviation and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera on August 10 about the alleged discrimination caused to Muslim graduates in the appointment of graduates employees.

The Minister has stated that it is premature to comment since graduate appointments have not been completed as yet. He assured that no injustice will be permitted to creep in to appointments of graduates for the various posts.

When incidents between two groups of people at Pudavaikadu in Kuchchaveli area was brought to the notice of the Presidential Secretariat and Minister Samaraweera, action was taken to bring the situation under control and amicable settlement was reached through the Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration Tilak Ranaviraja.

The Ashraff Congress Leader also thanked President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Minister Samaraweera for prompt action in this matter. The Ashraff Congress also thanked Ranaviraja.
