ICASL contributes to SAFA seminar in Kathmandu The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) made a significant contribution to a regional seminar of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) in Kathmandu, Nepal recently. ICASL Council Member Preethi Jayewardene presented a technical paper on "Code of Ethics and the SAARC Experience in Global Perspective", while ICASL President Indrajith Fernando was the commentator on a technical paper titled "Corporate Frauds - Challenges to the Auditor" Organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal, the seminar focussed on "Enhancing Professional Image Challenges and Opportunities in the Region" Incorporated in 1959, the ICASL is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) and the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). It is also represented on several national statutory bodies and has been given the responsibility of formulating Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLAS) by the Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Act. The Institute spearheads Sri Lanka's move towards adopting International Accounting Standards. |
